Missionary work is very important to our church. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ we believe that it is our responsibility to go out and invite others to come unto Christ. Our Heavenly Father is a loving God and he want all of his children to return to him. He wants us to know him and know of his love. One thing that I've learned about our church, which separates us from other religions, is that we make covenants. I believe it is our covenants that bind us to God. As we keep sacred covenants we are blessed and given more power to live as God wants us to live. Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for us and through our covenants, like partaking of the sacrament, we promise to remember him and keep his commandments. I know that as I keep my covenants I am blessed by Heavenly Father.

In my scripture study this week I was reading in Alma chapter 14 and 15. It is the story about Alma and Amulek preaching to the people of Ammonihah. The people were very wicked and didn't believe in the words of Alma. They were eventually thrown into prison and the people took those that believed in Alma and Amulek's words and burned them. I wondered why God would allow that to happen. Even Amulek asked the same question. Alma said that God's purposes would be fulfilled and that the people who suffered would be taken into His glory. Also it was allowed so that the full measure of God's judgement would be applied to the people who made the suffering happen.
I think God's wants to see us be faithful and so we are tried sometimes with very sore trials.
Zeezrom was a very wicked man that also lived in Ammonihah and he went around teaching the people that there was no God and following God was foolish. He was taught by Alma and Amulek and was convinced of his wickedness. It says in Chapter 15 that he became very sick physically because of all the things he had done wrong. But through faith in Jesus Christ he was healed. He was healed from physical suffering, but I think more importantly, from mental and emotional suffering as well. The Savior suffered all things for us if we would had faith in him. He can take away all suffering, whatever it is we need healed from he can do it. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and the atonement. Have faith and believing in him will bring us happiness.

Today in Church it was testimony meeting. Today during the meeting I felt the Holy Ghost touch me and confirm to me the reality of life after death and the reality of a Father in Heaven. He is aware of us and our needs. I know that as I live the gospel of Jesus Christ and commit myself to living the commandments that no matter the temptations that Satan throws at me I can resist. I've already made the commitment so I just need to trust that He will be there to help me.
